In Article 184 of Legislative Decree 152/2006, waste is classified as special:
waste from agricultural and agro-industrial activities; waste from demolition, construction and hazardous waste from excavation activities; waste from industrial processing; waste from artisanal processing; waste from commercial activities; waste from service activities; waste deriving from the recovery and disposal of waste, sludge produced by drinking water, other water treatments, wastewater purification and fume abatement; waste from health activities; deteriorated and obsolete machinery and equipment; end-of-life motor vehicles, trailers and the like and their parts; fuel derived from waste; waste derived from mechanical sorting of municipal solid waste.
