How We Operate
At our plant in Via De Gasperi, located in Gorlago (BG), the following operations are carried out upon arrival of the loads of waste.
1) Incoming checks:
- checking and verifying the accompanying documentation (forms)
- visual inspection of the waste and, if necessary, sampling for further analysis
- Verification of the weight of the waste entering the plant
- radioactivity control for metal waste (iron, steel, copper, aluminum, etc.)
2) Waste storage:
- The waste delivered is unloaded in dedicated areas, divided by type
3) Sorting and selection:
- carried out by mechanical means and/or manually by qualified personnel;
- separation of materials destined for recovery (paper, wood, rubber, plastic, ferrous and non-ferrous metals), from those that cannot be recovered, to be sent for disposal
4) Handling:
- use of loaders, self-propelled cranes, forklifts, trucks with cranes and roll-off bodies
5) Compaction:
- by hooklift presses, baling presses and shear presses
6) Shredding:
- The fixed plant is mainly dedicated to the shredding of selected vulcanized rubber
7) Departure to the final destination:
- the waste, after any radiometric control, leaves the plant as EoW (End of Waste) or as waste to be sent for material or energy recovery, or as a non-recyclable fraction to be disposed of in landfills or specialized plants, according to the European waste hierarchy
