MUD Compilation

Every year, for many companies and institutions, the time comes to fulfill an important environmental and regulatory obligation: the compilation of the Single Environmental Declaration Model (MUD). This is a requirement provided for by Law no. 70 of 25 January 1994, which concerns the management of waste produced or treated in the previous year. The compilation of the MUD requires attention, precision and a solid knowledge of the current legislation.

According to the legislation, producers and managers of certain waste, as well as producers of specific categories of goods, are required to submit the MUD annually to the territorially competent Chambers of Commerce, indicating the qualitative and quantitative data relating to the flows of waste and goods of the previous year. The publication of the annexes to the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers is entrusted to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE). In fact, the  MASE portal is available:

• the instructions for filling in the Single Environmental Declaration Model (MUD);
• the forms for simplified waste communication;
• the models for data collection;
• the instructions for electronic submission.

The MUD is not just a formal requirement: it is an essential tool to ensure transparency and traceability in waste management, contributing to the environmental and social responsibility of companies. However, its compilation can be complex, especially for those who are not familiar with the EWC / EER codes, the processing methods or the digital platforms provided for submission.
